Janet Henderson – died 16 July 1905
Walter Henderson – died 21 July 1913
Andrew Young – died 7 April 1924
Annie Letitia Young – died 9 September 1941
Miss L Henderson – died July 1946 (see below)

Council records claim a Miss L Henderson is also in the plot and was buried on 16 July 1946.  The only ‘Miss L Henderson’ to pass away in July 1946 is Louisa Jessie Henderson.  She was born to Walter and Louisa Theresa Henderson in 1896.

Her parents were married 15 October 1890.

It seems unlikely that she is actually interred in this plot however.  Louisa Jessie Henderson is mentioned in the inscription on plot 22 (block 1).  Her name is also listed on the council records so it is most likely an error on this plot given she is not mentioned on the gravestone.

Janet Henderson is the first interment in this plot.  She is born circa 1823.  It is most likely she was born and married overseas.

Walter is born around 1822.  I can only find one birth in NZ to him and Janet, that of, Annie Letitia who shares this grave with her parents and husband.

The 1880-1881 Electoral shows a Walter Henderson, snr and jnr.  Junior is listed as a shipping agent and senior, a railway porter, both in Bluff.

By 1890, junior was listed as a clerk.  Senior was still a porter.  The 1905-1906 electoral roll shows that Walter Jnr is the Walter Henderson mentioned earlier as the father of Miss L Henderson.  He is the second son of Walter according to the marriage notice.  The only Walter Henderson born in NZ to Walter Henderson is in 1865.  The mother is given as Helen, not Janet so I am unsure of the relationship.

Annie Letitia Henderson was born in 1864.  She was married in 1886 to Andrew Young.

From 1890 – 1919, Andrew was listed at Foyle Street, Bluff as a teacher.  Annie is also on the same roll except she is on the Supplementary Roll in 1919.
